More than twenty new airstrikes tore through the Stripâs night. The sky is burning, smoke covers the horizon, and the ground shakes beneath the feet of those who remain alive.
The sounds of explosions mingle with the voices of children, the screams, and the voices of mothers searching the rubble for their loved ones. These days, there is no longer such a thing as âquiet."Homes are being destroyed over their inhabitants, and hospitals are filled with the wounded who find neither medicine nor a place to stay.
The world watches in frightening silence as America gives Israel full cover to continue its bombingâŠEven famine has returned to Gaza.
People are searching for a morsel of bread, a sip of water, a glimmer of hope that wonât be bombed. And in the midst of all this⊠there is my mother. đShe was a strong woman who filled the house with her smile despite everything. But illness had no mercy on her, and the blockade didnât allow us to save her.
It started with a simple gallbladder ache, which could have been easily treated anywhere else in the world. But in Gaza, there are no advanced surgeries, no adequate medications, and no specialized doctors for all cases.
We couldnât do anythingâŠ
The inflammation spread to her liver and, months later, turned into malignant cancer.
Now, my mother is getting weaker by the day. She can no longer eat, or even get out of bed sometimes.
Her face has turned pale, and her voice is barely audible as she asks, "Will I ever be cured?"I have no answer⊠except to ask you to be her last hope.We need to transfer her for treatment outside Gaza before itâs too late.Every day that passes means a greater risk to her life.
I am Abdul Rahman, writing to you amidst the sounds of explosions to say:
This is the supernatural equivalent of going to the doctor and they keep pulling specialists in the room to go, âwow, Iâve never seen THAT beforeâ
âThey tied [Greta Thunbergâs] hands behind her back with the Israeli flag and made her walk. They didnât give us clean water, they told us to drink from the toilets. We went nearly 40 hours without food. We saw mothers writing their childrenâs names on the walls. We actually experienced a little bit of what Palestinians go through.â - Activist Aycin Kantoglu
âThey tortured Greta very severely before our eyes. [âŠ] They dragged little Greta by her hair before our eyes, beat her, and forced her to kiss the Israeli flag. They did everything imaginable to her, as a warning to othersâ - Journalist Ersin Celik
âGreta Thunberg, a brave woman, is only 22 years old. She was humiliated and wrapped in an Israeli flag and exhibited like a trophy.â -Journalist Lorenzo Agostino
âWe stayed with reverse handcuffs for 5 hours. When we went to prison, they didnât give us water, we had to drink water from the toilet.â - Author Said Ercan
âWhen we showed our reaction, they increased their violence even more. They tried to keep us under constant pressure in prison, waking us throughout the nightand changing our locations.â - Doctor Osman Cetinkaya
âThey treated us like dogs. They left us hungry for three days. They didnât give us water; we had to drink from the toilet ⊠It was a terribly hot day, and we were all roasting.â - TV presenter Ikbal Gurpinar
Hundreds of peaceful activists from around 45 countries had their aid vessels blasted repeatedly with water canons and boarded by Israeli navy. Their communication systems were jammed and their ships were unlawfully seized and brought to Israel. The activists were then kidnapped and tortured in Israeli prisons against their will.
The quoted statements above are what we know from individual activists from the Global Sumud Flotilla.
The words of Aycin Kantoglu are important: âWe actually experienced a little bit of what Palestinians go through.â
She is correct. They were denied clean water and medicine, kept awake, moved from place to place, starved, dehumanized, and had their bodies used to generate Israeli propaganda. They endured this terror for days. This is terrible. And this is only a glimpse of the terror that Palestinians have endured.
My friend Fadel (@fadel-danii) and his family have been denied access to clean water and starved for months. They have been forcibly displaced over and over again. They are kept awake with the sound of bombings and the insects and animals that get inside their damaged tent. He has struggled for two years to afford his medications.
While the activists detained for attempting to deliver aid are being released, Fadel and his family are trapped where they are without any assurance they will soon be somewhere safe.
They cannot simply return home at the end of this suffering and be treated for their injuries, because their house was destroyed, their healthcare infrastructure and doctors are constantly under attack, their land is being killed, their water polluted, and there is no clear end in sight.
Fadel started this fundraising campaign to afford travel to a hospital that could perform surgery to remove shrapnel that pierced his body during the bombing of his familyâs home. His campaign was verified and shared by @90-ghost and @a-shade-of-blue, and was vetted by @gazavetters (#197 on the gazavetters spreadsheet). That was early summer of 2024. It has been over a year since then, and he has still not raised these funds.
His family has been displaced to southern Gaza and are struggling to afford water, food, medicine, and supplies to repair their damaged tent. Please donate what you can.
Can anyone bear my pain and what I am going through? I have been injured for more than 400 days and the metal fragments are still stuck in my body and I need an urgent surgery and everyone is ignoring me. Please wake up and look at me, please stand by me. I am in dire need of your donations for my surgery. Please do not ignore me.!!!!
Israel is paying hundreds of thousands of dollars to American influencers to win a propaganda war after its two-year war on Palestinians in Gaza has diminished its reputation, Responsible Statecraft reported on Wednesday.
Foreign Agents Registration Act (Fara) records filed with the US Department of Justice show that Israelâs government has set aside $900,000 to pay influencers from mid-June until the end of November this year.
The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs pays a company called Bridges Partners LLC to manage the influencers. Israel transfers the money to Bridge Partners LLCâs via Havas Media Group in Germany, who then transfer the money across to Bridge Partners LLC.
DC-based Bridge Partners LLC said in its disclosure form that its work is intended to âassist with promoting cultural interchange between the United States and Israelâ.
The form also reveals the firm is being paid to recruit 14-18 influencers to post between 25 and 30 pro-Israel posts a month across social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube and Threads.
We love a natural and organic looking 25-30 posts a month about how much our fave influencers love boba tea and genocide
reminder: keep up with saying he IS NOT THE UHC SHOOTER, they havenât proven that he is, keep insisting he and the UHC shooter are separate entities.
Hey everyone! This is my lovely friend Cyrus Nemati, who many of you may know as Theseus, Dionysus and Ares from the first Hades game.
He has spent the last couple years developing his very first indie game, Vampire Therapist, which plays with the many vampire character archetypes from across media.
Itâs been reviewing VERY well but itâs not getting very many wishlists, so if youâre interested in vampires, fantastic art and clever, funny, and thoughtful writing about vampire mental health, go wishlist it on Steam!
And listen, Cyrus may be too humble to leverage his colorful career as your favourite Hades hotboys, so Iâm gonna do it for him đ GO SUPPORT FANTASTIC INDIE DEVS LIKE THIS ONE!
I think itâs a shame that âOedipus complexâ refers to fucking your mom instead of the actual point of his story, fulfilling your destiny through your attempts to avoid it. It just so happens his destiny was to fuck his mom
Yeah, I donât know what Freud was thinking, but Oedipus very much did Not want to fuck his mom. He spent the entire play trying to avoid that, and then gauged out his eyes when he learned that he had anyway.
I think Freud was too caught up with the fantasy of fucking his mom to appreciate the themes of the story tbh
Apologies for the non heat week content to fill gap. Iâve been sick and my internet at home has been out so Iâve been relying on data. I should get...
thinking about everything everywhere all at once (2022) and how itâs just one of those movies i watch once and canât bring myself to watch again...
